    This is actually the second base I had purchased for my table. The first, I discovered, was too lightweight. This one you fill with sand and it provides much better stability. I purchased the bronze and it is a true bronze. We use this one under an outdoor dining table it is working well. If you need one under chaises, I recommend the rolling base. It is expensive, but awesome.

      We purchased two of these umbrella stands because they won't rust. They are sturdy and filling with sand was easy. The problem we ran into was the height of the stand with the stand pole. One of our tables has cross bracing at the bottom and the pole is 2" too tall to fit under it. We are going to see if the pole can be cut shorter or if we can find a replacement pole as we'd like to use this stand.

                  I had to cut the pipe part of the stand down to fit under the patio table. The commercial tables have a lower cross brace that the stand must fit under. A stand pipe one quarter of an inch lower would be just right.
