About the 10-Ft. Offset Patio Umbrella


You and your guests will have a cool respite with the 10 ft. Offset Patio Umbrella at your next outdoor event. Enjoy family meals or conversation with friends, rain or shine, with this Coolaroo Offset Umbrella, which makes a perfect addition by the pool or spa, or on the patio. Adjust the three-position aluminum pole to provide refreshing shade all day long, or add this umbrella to larger outdoor dining tables that don't accommodate umbrellas or have hard-to-reach umbrella holes. The umbrella shade can tilt slightly to the front or back by moving the slider pole up or down. A breathable synthetic fabric encourages air circulation to regulate temperatures. This mold-resistant shade also blocks out dangerous UV rays.


Only the most premium grades of High-Density Polyethylene are used to create this specialty knit fabric, known as Coolaroo. Coolaroo-knitted fabrics contain millions of specially designed air holes that allow air to flow freely through to create a significant cooling effect beneath. The result is the creation of a comfortable and cool environment for people, pets, and plant life. In fact, so effective is the Coolaroo fabric design, temperatures beneath are reduced by up to 32% when compared to direct sunlight. Coolaroo fabrics are suitable for a variety of different outdoor applications. Also, all High-Density Polyethylene fabrics are UV-stabilized and supported by a three-year warranty against UV breakdown.


Please note that the concrete blocks to weigh the base down are not included with this umbrella. We recommend using concrete blocks that each weigh at least 50 pounds and measure 18 x 18 inches. Paving stones or other blocks for this purpose can be purchased at most hardware or garden stores.

This is a very stylish umbrella that adjusts easily. The only problem we found is it tends to not withstand high winds when fully opened. Our back yard gets a lot of whipping gusts, and we have to make sure it is down during these times or it will tip over.

It says this has 3 position tilt to provide all day shade. The umbrella does NOT tilt, it can rotate to three positions, but that's not the same as tilt, so if you are hoping to use this umbrella to shade a western exposure when the sun is setting in late afternoon, it will not do. I would have returned it, but the shipping and re-stock fee are half the price of the whole umbrella, so I will keep it.
On the plus side, the breathable fabric is very nice, the umbrella is well-made and very easy to use.

              I loved the umbrella, albeit it was hard to get set up, concrete blocks and all. In a moderatly heavy wind, a crucial joint snapped, and alas there are no replacement parts. So scratch one 4 month old umbrella.
