The sturdy construction of the 8.5-ft. Coral Coast Umbrella will add style, functionality, and beauty to your outdoor area. This umbrella frame is crafted from durable anodized aluminum that has an added protective oxide coating that protects the structure by making the surface harder than natural aluminum. In addition, it gives the metal a porous outside layer that readily absorbs dyes, making it possible to produce a colored surface that is scratch-resistant.

 

The 12-rib frame is secured to the post with high-impact PVC hubs, which are highly versatile and weather-resistant, to support the 8.5-foot dodecagon canopy. Crafted from 100% solution-dyed fabric, this canopy is ideal for outdoor use. The material is resistant to mold and mildew. The Coral Coast Umbrella carries a 1-year warranty against fading, allowing the umbrella to reside in direct sunlight with no worries of losing its rich, vibrant color.

 

Easily open and close the canopy of this umbrella using the crank-lift system. A sturdy rope cord is positioned inside the umbrella post to assist in turning the crank, thus allowing you to effortlessly raise or lower the canopy. A three-way, push-tilt button on the post manually rotates the umbrella shade in three different positions to direct shade where you want it.

 

For the Coral Coast Umbrella, we recommend a 45-pound umbrella stand if you are using it with a table, and a 70-pound stand if it will be freestanding or used in a windy area.

I purchased this Umbrella in the "Really Red" and it really is "REALLY RED"! Beautiful Color! The Red is a great accent for a teak wood table and side tables. It provides excellent shade, enough for 5-8 people, and offers good rain protection (when its not windy) in light to moderate rains. This Umbrella is of great quality, STURDY, and stands up to fairly high winds. We use it in an area that is fairly open, and is often subject to winds. I have had it open on days with winds of 25mph and it performs great. I love watching the valances blow in the breezes too. Much nicer than those ugly, pointy "Market" umbrellas you see everywhere nowadays. The valances are very retro in a good way and do provide extra shade as well. I have had it for two months now and LOVE IT! I do take it down in storms however. You will also need to use a stand that is 35 pounds or heavier. Great buy and EXCELLENT VALUE! I would recommend this to everyone I know that wants a nice, classy looking outdoor umbrella! In fact, I am going to buy another one in Forest green as a gift for my friends new beach house.

I was really impressed with the umbrella out of the box...great color and looked a lot nicer than I paid for it. I have a rooftop deck in the city and unfortunately only had the umbrella open twice...the second time a gust of wind took the umbrella, the base and my glass table over the side of the roof and crashed into the driveway below. I learned my lesson that these cannot withstand wind and probably would work, but in a yard.

I was so tired of all of the cute market umbrellas breaking, so I bought this one with a metal pole.

It did not last even 2 months. The rope and crank mechanism broke right off. The pole however, is still in one piece.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    I work out in the sun all day so the last thing I need to do is sun bathe. I purchased a couple of these cranberry umbrellas and they did what I needed from day one, it gave me great shade. Also, I can now stay outside during those brief rain showers. These umbrellas give me just enough shade in the bright sun and protect me from the elements while still enjoying the family while being outdoors.

      Replacing a 9' market umbrella with wood pole, which broke in 3 places! Love the berry color and style of this 8-1/2' umbrella with aluminum pole. Apron of umbrella is lovely trimmed in white. More lightweight than wood pole 9' one. Time will tell if color lasts and aluminum holds up in our beach weather. Haven't had high winds yet. Sale on this item makes it worth a year's wear if it doesn't hold up.....[$].
