Wood Care Instructions
After assembly, furniture should be rinsed well with water to remove dust left over from manufacturing. This should be done before placing on concrete or tile to prevent staining. Since Shorea has such high oil content and is so dense, it weathers well outside without maintenance at all. Shorea will weather naturally to silver gray. While the weather process may change its color, the grain will still be smooth. You may treat each piece with Teak oil to prolong weathering.
A seasonal cleaning may be desired. This can be done easily with a mild solution of water, laundry detergent, and a little bleach. Just rinse the furniture and use a sponge or soft bristle brush to scrub the furniture with the solution. Lastly, rinse the furniture with more fresh water.
If the original warm brown color is preferred, Oxford Garden suggests any teak oil to be used seasonally to preserve the color. The application of oil is simply cosmetic. Test in an inconspicuous spot to approve the color before applying to the whole piece of furniture. Application of oil is at the customer's discretion and is not included in the warranty. If the original wood color is preferred after graying has begun, Oxford Garden recommends using a wood cleaner to restore the color. Follow up with a new application of teak oil.
Painting or using polyurethane is NOT recommended due to the high oil content of shorea wood. Because some surface roughness may develop early in the weathering process, a very light sanding may be desired to smooth out the roughness. Follow up with a dry rough cleaning sponge to remove any remaining sawdust.

We are a family of 5 so the typical 4-seat sets do not work for us. Plus our deck is not that large so we have space issues. We were worried that the high table would look strange but it looks fantastic. Beautiful wood (darker stain), good construction (one of the easiest "assembly required" we've had), and overall excellent quality. It will definitely last for many, many years. We skipped the glue step for the stools - at least for now. We highly recommend this set.

OK, so the directions could use a little more polish, and the nice colored tags that were supposed to help you match the pieces during assembly were missing or mislabeled, no big deal, it's a stool after-all and you don't need rocket science to get it right.
This set is actually better proportioned and more beautiful than the pictures on the site. And that includes the Oxford Garden site. There's a curve to the legs that you don't quite see, a slight forward tilt that you can't catch that subtly draws the eye in toward it... and makes the stool more comfortable too boot.
The table is solid but not heavy, again the legs have a taper that reminds me of Shaker or Japanese.
Now, I'm fairly handy so assembly of 6 stools and the table took just over 1 hour, but for the less handily inclined, plan on three and you'll still have time for a christening drink when you're done.
