The bistro table and chairs is perfect for a small area (we have a side patio next to the hot tub and couldn't put in a large set there). This set is sturdy and attractive. The only negative is that it was a bit confusing to put the table together because the directions only say that there are 8 screws and bolts, but in fact there are 4 larger and 4 smaller and you have to be sure to put the smaller ones in the smaller holes. If not, you end up with large ones for the small holes and that just doesn't work. So, keep that in mind and it should be easy to put the table together.

Buyers Be Aware. The table I received-and the replacement the vendor sent-will not fold as depicted in the web picture. The pictured item shows the folded table with the middle solid strip in a vertical position relative to the ground. The item as shipped has that middle piece horizontal. This means the the wood strip under the table top interferes with the legs and, consequently, the table will not fold completely. Therefore, table as shipped does not conform to the item as pictured on the web, on the box, or on the instructions. I believe this is a manufacturing error at the point of production. (This may also be why the vendor is selling this item at a steep discount. BTW, They also claim that there is no defect.) If you don't mind a table that won't fold completely, or, if you are willing to try to chisel some wood out to make the table work properly, this is a good deal. If you are not equipped to do some home woodworking, take a pass on this.

I will use this product on my porch. Managed to put it together in about 45 minutes after studying the directions, which were not real great, but I figured it out - hey I'm a girl. Looks like it is well constructed and really cute. This is my first purchase and I look forward to purchasing more items.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was really quick but one of the chairs is broken. The back of one of the seats is cracked all the way through. Emailed customer service today and waiting to hear how it will be resolved. I expect it will be resolved to my satisfaction. The relative I heard about Hayneedle from has shopped for many items and customer service has been better than expected for her. I look forward to the response :)

Q1: Would you be so kind to tell me if the eucalyptus wood needs to be treated?
A: The eucalyptus wood is already pretreated with an oil based treatment. We recommend reapplying the sealer once or twice a year, other wise the wood will weather to a silvery gray. Sealer can be purchased at your local hardware store.
