Without them, I could not have assembled it. There are gaps in some of the connections, so not sure about weatherproof yet. But assembled when cold and was informed that as temperature warms up the material should expand to normal. We'll see. Still in the garage as weather has been unpredictable in Raleigh so far and not sure where to place it in the back yard outside yet. But it is a nice looking product and if it performs as advertised, it will meet exactly what I was looking for, especially the storage. Cudo's to the Customer Service rep. that assisted me - she was GREAT. Wish I remembered her name, but gave her mine and phone number in case she was reprimanded for staying on the line so long with a customer. Would recommend this product IF it performs as expected...

I purchased this simply to store my cushions from my patio furniture. I didn't put it together... so I'm going off the significant other's opinion for assembly. But from observing the process, it was a bit difficult; definitely use a rubber mallet or something to that effect. The interior pieces that hold the seat/top together continuously "pop" off when opened and closed, so that is a nuisance when using it as an outdoor storage item. My little brother loves to come over and "hide" in it... so it was worth its entire purchase price for that simple use! Other than the difficult assembly and continuous ‘dislocation’ of it’s interior ‘slat’, it has an attractive appearance and looks very nice on my back deck. It also doubles for seating and is sturdy.

We live in a mobil home park in Florida and as everyone knows, there isn't alot of storage space in a park model.We use the storage space under the seat for alot of things and we use the seat for extra seating when we have company.When we go out and sit on our new bench, we have people stopping by and asking where we got it....Of course we tell them Suncast corp. and tell them how great the service is.
