    This umbrella stand is more valuable than I thought when purchasing. We recently experienced an unexpected turbulent storm. We were sure that the umbrella would be in the backyard instead of on the patio. To our surprise, the umbrella was completely in tact. My husband and I both agree that we should have purchased this stand a year ago.

        Q2: How thick is base of umbrella stand?

        A: It is about 1/4 in thick but is very heavy metal.
