Although it is made to look and feel like real wood, each piece is actually made of over 500 recycled plastic bottles and containers once destined for the landfill. Each piece is weather resistant and will never fade as they are compounded with permanent, UV stabilized colors. POLYWOOD® material is made of HDPE plastic resin that has been purified and UV protected. It is generally cared for and cleaned with soap and warm water.
For certain stains and additional cleaning power, a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color.
Also, a popular method of cleaning is a high-pressure power wash. (Not to exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.
The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial-grade stainless steel that has an additional Xylan protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments.
A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch-up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up-paint can be purchased at local hardware stores.

This is an excellent product. It's made in the USA of recycled products which made us very happy to see! This table and chairs are well worth the extra price compared to other metal/glass topped patio sets. The pieces are very heavy and well made and I expect they will survive the range of weather here a lot better than other patio sets. We've had it only a few weeks and love it. The table and chairs wipe clean so easily since things don't penetrate the finish. We have a lot of pollen this spring which had settled on the table and chairs and it wiped off so easily. The chairs are very comfortable. I love that they have 3 settings for the angle of the back. I was going to get cushions for them, but I don't think they are needed. The table is heavy duty and only took 45 minutes for two of us (53 year olds) to easily put together. The table is very heavy so it takes at least two people to move it. It's a plus that the chairs fold up so we can easily put them away for the winter. Haven't found anything I don't like yet!

This table and chairs will survive any weather condition. The chairs are comfortable. The table will never blow over as it weighs 130 lbs!
Service and delivery comments:
The website stated the product would be delivered in 6 days. I took a vacation day to await delivery and I waited and waited but nothing showed. I contacted Hayneedle who explained the delivery method stated on the website was incorrect, and in fact, the delivery would not be made for yet another week. Hayneedle should have contacted me BEFORE I took the first vacation day, now owes me pay for the extra vacation day I had to take.

This product is well made. I was concerned with some of the comments about the time and difficulty of assembly but chucking a #4 allen bit in a portable drill allowed me to put together the table in 20 minutes. The chairs are fully assembled and only need to be unfolded. Fold again for easy storage. Delivery took exactly one week longer than advertised.
